The prestigious ABIA Awards were determined by a total of 7,382 newlyweds who registered to vote, ranking vendors on quality of product, quality of service, value for money and attitude of staff.
Kingfisher Bay Resort held a strong track record in the category, having claimed the title for the past four years running, further validating the resort as a sought-after choice for destination weddings.
Kingfisher Bay Resort's Wedding Sales Manager, Bianca Bear, said that the team were honoured to have been amongst the top finalists for 2018.
"It was a close competition, and it's rewarding to have our dedication and hard work consistently recognised on the highest industry level. We'll continue to offer service excellence to our guests, and ensure all couples have a truly memorable wedding day on Fraser Island".
This comes with the exciting announcement that Kingfisher Bay Resort has been nominated for 'Best Queensland Resort Reception Venue' at the National ABIA awards, held at The Star Gold Coast this June.
The wedding industry has become increasingly competitive, with the ABIA Chairman John O'Meara stating that 'the market within Australia has declined from 123,000 marriages in 2012 to approximately 110,000 in 2017".
Ms Bear added that it was important to note that many of resort's Fraser Coast wedding suppliers and partners were finalists at the awards, which she says is reflective of the high calibre of the local industry.
"Our successful partnership with leading local vendors not only demonstrates the direct strength within the region, but will ensure Kingfisher Bay Resort holds a long-lasting position within the industry.
The Australian wedding market is valued at approximately $3.6 billion dollars per year.
