After first meeting back in 2007, the couple travelled to Fraser Island for a holiday in early 2016. With a storm on the forecast, they still went ahead with the trip, and it turned out to be the perfect day.
They went 4WDing around the island, before Brad took Nikita to the breathtaking Lake McKenzie for the first time. "It was the most beautiful place I've seen. The sand was so white and the water was crystal clear blue".
A little rain interrupted their visit, so they went back to the car, with Brad suddenly looking nervous. With the intention to propose along the romantic shores of the lake, he then asked 'Will you marry me?' "I almost fell off my seat. I totally did not see that coming. Of course I said yes!!" Nikita recalled. They continued their memorable day by driving around, taking in the spectacular scenery of Fraser Island, before heading home.
Their engagement set the scene for an island wedding, and so they chose Sunset Beach to exchange vows before their friends and family. Nikita wore a sequined gown inspired by the Great Gatsby, and their reception followed in Kingfisher Bay Resort's Ballroom.
In keeping with the island themed celebrations, the newlyweds enjoyed a romantic Honeymoon in Hawaii.
Kingfisher Bay Resort wishes Brad and Nikita every happiness in the future.
