Our couples choose Fraser Island as their wedding destination for a variety of reasons. For some it's where they met, became engaged or holidayed as kids. Some are after a destination celebration that they can share with their loved ones long after the ceremony is over. And for others, like Monique and Tim, they have an intrinsically personal connection to the place.
This 'Friday Fraser wedding' was a showstopper: The bride was a vision in white... and the groom and his men were resplendent in suit jackets with a touch of the tropics.
When Mr Fraser proposed to his beautiful English rose it was a bit of a no-brainer as to where they'd eventually marry... Fraser Island of course!
Picture this: Sunset Beach on Fraser Island. The Great Sandy Strait is glassed out; the sun is shining, the sky is blue and you're surrounded by your friends and loved ones as you say "I Do".
There was plenty of green and gold to be seen at Todd and Suzy's Australia Day wedding... but it wasn't from the wardrobe, wedding cake or decorations... instead, Mother Nature turned on quite a show with gilded afternoon light, green wallum heathland and golden sands on the western side of Fraser.
Fraser Island's beautiful brides always shine in the wedding photos... but every now and then a pic of the blokes having fun pre and post wedding captures our attention and we have to share.
There's an awful lot of planning that goes into a wedding, but it doesn't have to be super stressful on the bride's big day. Our Weddings Manager, Corey, and the team work tirelessly behind the scenes and always love it when a plan comes together perfectly, as it did during Jayme and Graeme's super fun wedding with us last year.
We're suckers for a romantic love story... so when we stumbled across a story in The Bay Bride magazine about a would-be groom who'd gone to extraordinary lengths to captured the moment his lady said YES at our very own heart-shaped Lake McKenzie, well, we had to share.
It was Valentine's Day, so it was always going to be romantic...
Here on Fraser Island we wax lyrical about our stunning wedding ceremony locations; those famous golden sunsets and the potential postcard photos that you'll walk away with... we can work miracles, but we can't control the weather...
Now here's a story to warm even the coldest winter heart! It took a visit to Fraser Island's heart-shaped Lake McKenzie; five-hundred colourful LED candles and a detailed mud map of how to position them into the perfect "Marry Me" love heart for Sunnybank entrepreneur, Fisher Yu, to surprise his way into his girlfriend's heart.
Groom Fisher and bride-to-be, Lavender Shu, chose World Heritage-listed Fraser Island on recommendation from friends and because of an uncanny similarity between Kingfisher Bay Resort's name and Fisher's chosen English name.
